The Huskies of St. Cloud (Minn.) State University scored on their first three possessions and ended the Dragons’ season on a low note, beating them by a score of 47-14 on Saturday.
Sophomore running back Michael Walker jump-started the Huskies’ offense, scoring three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter. At halftime, the Huskies led the Dragons 33-7.
Senior quarterback Kevin Koch completed six of 10 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown for the Dragons, but left in the first half with an injury. Senior Bryson Pluta entered in relief, completing five of 10 passes for 79 yards.
Senior wide receiver Kendall Hendon pulled in 3 receptions for 83 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
The Dragons’ other touchdown came off a four-yard rush from senior running back E’boni Lucious-West, who rushed for 23 yards on 15 carries.
Senior linebacker Jeff Schuette led the Dragon defense with 13 tackles, including one for loss. Junior linebacker Terrell Ayers, sophomore defensive back Antonio Hardy-Dundy and junior safety Tyler Brody recorded eight tackles each.
The Huskies managed 444 total yards, while the Dragons managed just 185.
The Dragons ended the season on a seven-game losing streak, bringing their overall record to 2-9.
